The CMA is the UK’s world-leading government body established to make sure competition works in consumers’ favour and businesses treat their customers fairly. What we do really matters and makes a difference to people’s lives.  So we need to ensure our people have the best systems and operations in place to support, recognise and reward their work. We now have an exciting opportunity for a proven HR Operations professional to manage the pay and reward, systems development and management information operations. In this role, as HR Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in the success of the CMA.

Reporting to the Head of HR Operations you will manage and motivate small teams responsible for delivering Pay and Reward, HR Systems Development and Management Information services. You will leverage technology to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is embedded across the HR Operations team and work with wider teams to ensure the smooth integration of HR Operations policy, systems and processes.

The role will have a particular emphasis on Pay and Reward, specifically:

  • Developing and leading on the implementation of the CMA’s future pay strategy and plan;

·      Leading on the development of pay business cases, including the production of supporting data evidence.

  • Leading the delivery of the SCS and non-SCS annual pay settlements, ensuring the accurate and comprehensive implementation of pay awards;
  • Overseeing the delivery of the annual Gender Pay Gap analysis and annual reporting; and
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of all pay and reward related policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have previous relevant experience of delivering a quality HR Operations service in a high volume, fast paced environment, preferably in a professional services, Civil Service or other public sector organisation. You will also need to possess excellent stakeholder management, IT skills and strong written and oral communication skills.

The CMA is a hugely rewarding and stimulating place to work – an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so.

In return we offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and favourable consideration of flexible working.
