Learning & Development Assistant

We have multiple roles available in both our development & training analysis/design teams.

Job purpose:

To complete the activity of Training Solutions with research, data entry and administration for the analysis, design and development and assurance of learning solutions in accordance with Network Rail’s agreed quality and safety standards, in order to maintain Network Rail’s reputation for producing high quality creative and cost-effective training solutions.

We are seeking individuals with experience within an L&D administrative position or an interest in Learning & Development.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Analytical review of standards, manuals, local work instructions, rule books and any other associated materials, on behalf of NR Training to gather data for training development
  • Lead training analysis workshops and interviews with subject matter experts to capture task and system data to inform the design of training
  • Develop and execute gap analysis activities between the existing learner knowledge and the future learner knowledge, on behalf of NR Training, to develop learner appropriate training
  • Document and maintain captured data in relevant documents and forms as required, for training development projects, to demonstrate that training development is compliant to NR Training Standards
  • Track and communicate project progress to Training Portfolio Managers, Senior Learning Designers and technical subject matter experts as appropriate to enable the development of training in a timely manner
  • Create reports, complete data analysis and run peer review sessions for NR Training for tracking and continuous improvement activities
  • Operate programme and project activities as required by the Senior Learning Designers and Training Portfolio Managers to enable the development of training in a timely manner
  • Execute learning development activities as instructed by Senior Learning Designers to develop new and maintain existing training

Job skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential

  • Basic learning & development principles
  • Excellent organisation skills, demonstrating attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Microsoft Office packages to a high standard
  • Good communication and analytical skills, with proven ability to present information effectively and appropriately
