Job Purpose

This is one of three senior HR (Business Partner) roles within NRW.

The successful candidate will be responsible for being the custodian of a discrete set of policies and procedures (topics to be decided) and therefore further develop and improve and implement the changes across NRW of these topics using best practice and new thinking. At the same time they will also be able to provide advice on all other HR practices.

Therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate good strategic thinking and have a proven track record of driving forward key initiatives across an organisation whilst at the same time able to deliver on a day to day basis.

This role will have responsibility for supporting the Evidence, Permitting and Policy(circa 400 staff). They will work alongside managers to improve People Management capability as well as managing any relevant complex casework.

The role holder will therefore need to demonstrate drive, team work and good corporate responsibility. They may at times be required to attend meetings with PaRC, the Executive Team, senior managers and external stakeholder meetings.

The role holder will have full direct line management responsibility for 3 HR Advisors and 1 HR Admin plus any Fixed Term appointees.

This role will also play a key role in developing a #TeamNRW ethos within the People Management Function as a whole.

Qualifications and Skills

CIPD qualified (Level 7: Advanced)/Chartered Member of the CIPD or equivalent level HR Qualification.

Or equivalent

Extensive knowledge and experience of people management legislation and best practice.
