Founded in 1898 and the oldest of its kind in the world, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, NGOs, private organisations and global institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Human Resources department has an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced HR professional to join our team as a Senior Recruitment Manager. The Human Resources department is currently undergoing a period of change and this is an excellent opportunity for the right person to make their mark and shape the future direction of the recruitment team.
Leading the global candidate attraction, placement and talent management for LSTM, you will set standards for LSTM’s global recruitment activity via the development and implementation of the people resourcing strategy. You will design, develop and review recruitment, selection and talent management policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice and will work in partnership with our Learning and Development Manager to establish effective onboarding and talent development activities.
Overseas travel will be expected as required to search globally for talent and to assist LSTM’s associated organisations with the recruitment, selection and induction processes.
To be successful in this role you should be MCIPD qualified or have an equivalent level of direct work experience, along with experience of psychometric testing and a qualification in this area would be an advantage. Evidence of working at a senior HR professional level managing a busy recruitment service is essential as is evidence of managing a group of HR staff to provide a successful global recruitment service.
You will have strong and adaptive communication skills, which motivate and direct reports and engages recruiters along with a proactive approach to problem resolution setbacks with the ability to deconstruct risk situations providing quick and clear decisions.
