Job Details

HRLife is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a people-centric SME with significant growth plans. They are a business that put their people and customers at the heart of everything they do and as such, they are now looking to recruit a Chief People Officer/HR Director to support their forward-thinking, highly collaborative, talented workforce. To underpin this, you will help ensure this continues to be a truly great place to work which really welcomes new ideas and creativity.

Working as part of the C-suite and supporting the newly created leadership team, you will be integral to keeping their culture of collaboration and transparency as it grows. This role requires a commercial and strategic HR partner with a creative and proven HR background who has experience of working in a high-growth equity-backed business who has great influencing and leadership qualities.

Reporting into the newly appointed CEO you will be responsible for developing and implementing people plans to support the culture and values and help deliver business goals. Initially, your goal will be to build key strategic relationships within the business, understand business challenges and identify where the existing HR service can be enhanced to really help drive the business forward.

Your initial focus will be around leadership development and management training, aligning a reward strategy to business goals, workforce planning and overhauling the existing appraisal system. Operationally HR is sound, but this role is very much about enhancing what is currently in place and elevating it to the next level as the business extends its reach and looks to grow its network nationally.

In terms of your experience, you will have a broad generalist background gained within a commercial multi-site business environment that has experienced a significant scale-up. You will have expertise in:
• Creating, influencing and driving the People agenda
• Talent Acquisition and Talent Management
• Engagement and Retention
• Working with business leaders, coaching and advising
• People Development and succession planning
• Continuing to support and develop a collaborative and enviable culture

You will be a strategic thinker who can demonstrate a flexible, open-minded and proactive approach, who knows what good HR looks like in an environment that is growing and truly welcomes progressive, new ways of working.

This role will be based in Bolton 3 days a week with travel to other sites predominantly across the North and the Midlands so flexibility to travel is key.
