Head of Industrial Relations – Network Rail
up to £128k + benefits – Milton Keynes
Network Rail manages one of the most critical parts of UK infrastructure.
They own, operate and develop Britain's railway which is 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts and the thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. They also run 20 of Britain's largest train stations.
Every day, there are more than 4.8 million journeys made in Britain and over 600 freight trains run on the network. People depend on Britain's railway for their daily commute, to visit friends and loved ones and to get them home safe every day.
It has 40,000 employees in locations across England, Wales and Scotland. And, it is constantly investing in the railway to make it safer, more efficient and to meet increasing demand.
The Head of Industrial Relations is a key role within Network Rail. It is exciting, challenging and offers plenty of scope to shape direction. You will be responsible for IR Strategy and influencing at the most senior levels.
You will also represent the organisation in discussions with government officials, departments and regulators. You will lead pay negotiations, provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, manage relationships with union officials including general secretaries and have responsibility for a team of IR Specialists who work closely with HR and Business colleagues.
If you are an experienced HR or ER professional who has extensive Industrial Relations experience gained in a complex environment, then this maybe the role for you. You will need to have excellent relationship building skills, be politically savvy, be able to prioritise a busy workload and enjoy both strategy and rolling your sleeves up to problem solve.
If you have these skills and can quickly build confidence and credibility, then we would like to hear from you.
Please send your CV to info@mjerl.com by 5pm on 17th July 2019. Applications will be accepted by email only.
