Reward Specialist, £35,000 plus benefits

Your new role
You will support the Rewards Manager in the development and delivery of the reward strategy, through contributing to reward policies and procedures, continuous improvement and management of general reward activity relating to remuneration and employee benefits. Provide reward advice and guidance to colleagues and managers and to take ownership of specific projects within area of responsibility.

* Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and managers on a wide range of areas of reward including pay, benefits and job evaluation
* Support in the delivery of key reward projects such as the development and implementation of revised pay and grading structure and review of employee benefits provision
* Undertake salary surveys, internal and external job evaluation and benchmarking exercises for benefits as required
* Undertake regular reviews and analysis of the uptake and usage of benefits, making recommendations for any actions and promotion to ensure our benefits are well utilised
* Ensure the effective communication of the total reward package working with the Internal Communications team to identify the most effective channels for engagement
* Maintain reward information on the company intranet, internal publications and external employee benefits portal
* Manage relationships with external third party providers and suppliers
* Where agreed, project manage the implementation and communication of any new benefits or changes to the reward offering
* Support the Reward Administrator to develop and ensure effective reward administration systems and processes to ensure the smooth running of all reward activities
* Ensure compliance to appropriate legislation, ensuring that the correct documentation is in place
* Maintain relevant systems to ensure accuracy of information and the corresponding correct benefit entitlements Coach and support the HR Service team on reward policies and practices to enable successful delivery of the reward strategy ensuring compliance with group remuneration approach
* Act as the escalation point for the HR Service Centre, Recruitment and ER Advisor teams for any queries relating to pay and benefits

What you'll need to succeed

* Demonstrable experience of working in reward including experience of job evaluation and management of cyclical activity such as salary review and bonus processes. (If experience is lacking in an area, must have an interest in developing)
* Sound knowledge of reward and recognition practices including pay models, job evaluation frameworks and benchmarking tools
* Experience of giving advice to colleagues and managers on reward and benefits issues
* Experience of using and applying job evaluation and benchmarking tools - in particular direct experience Hay & Towers Watson would be advantageous
* High level of numeracy and analytical skills with great attention to detail
* Experience of analysing and interpreting data
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
* Excellent communication skills; able to communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences
* Ability to explain complex and technical information clearly and simply
* Previous experience in similar role / function
