People Director

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Executive Board of a respected and expert organisation focused on delivery of a number of high volume front line services to citizens and businesses.

The role of People Director sits at the heart of Acas’ ability to achieve our vision by 2021.  The role-holder will be central in enabling Acas to attract the best talent and developing organisation capability, for now and the future. They will work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the People Strategy is supported with sustainable plans that enable Acas to deliver its strategic ambitions  whilst attracting, retaining and building a diverse and inclusive workforce.  The People Director will also act as Head of Profession for Acas’ HR community.
The People Director will champion an engaging culture, working with leaders, our TUs and wider workforce aligning Acas internally with its external messaging. As a member of the Executive Board, the People Director also plays an important part in setting wider organisational strategy, in corporate governance and in leading business and cultural change. 

Reporting directly into the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for leading the People Directorate and developing a diverse range of people-focused HR initiatives to support the plan to enable our strategic aims to be delivered effectively and to continue to transform the business. You will be responsible for a £2.6m budget, c.22 staff and three direct reports.
