Applications are invited for a Permanent post of a Senior Employee Relations Specialist within UCD Culture and Engagement.

Reporting to the Employee Relations & Policy Manager, the focus of the Senior Employee Relations Specialist will be to manage a portfolio of active individual and collective cases both locally and at third party. The role will also play a leading role in the development of programmes that will support the implementation of the Employee Relations Framework to enhance the quality of our working environment. To achieve this, the post holder will operate in a consulting mode, working closely with key stakeholders in the diagnosis of issues, setting out with clarity desired outcomes and having the ability to develop appropriate dispute resolution strategies.

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist is required to have an excellent understanding of the core business of the university and have highly developed professional Employee Relations skills. The post holder will work with the Employee Relations & Policy Manager to deliver the overall provision of Employee Relations Services in the University.  This includes the management of precedent-setting and active cases both locally and at third party (individual and collective).  He/she will provide expert, comprehensive and relevant employee relations advice including interpreting and providing advice on aspects of national agreements and settlements to ensure the uniform application of their provisions.

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist will work seamlessly on project related activities with specialist colleagues in other areas of HR (e.g. Legal, HR Partners, Operations, Pensions, Resourcing) to deliver the maximum range of flexible options to support University, School and Unit objectives.

95 Snr Administrative Iv_2013 Salary Scale: €57,161 - €89,891 per annum.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
