Your new company
Carers Trust South East Wales (CTSEW) are a registered charity who focus on supporting the needs of unpaid carers in the South East Wales region. They have provided these crucial services for over 30 years with recent expansion resulting in CTSEW now providing support to unpaid carers across over a quarter of the Welsh population. Through successful merger and contract wins with local authorities, CTSEW have grown their revenue and staff headcount rapidly over the last 3 years , currently employing around 200 staff throughout the region. To match their ambitious plans and evolving organisational needs CTSEW have created this new senior leadership role, Head of People and Organisational Development.
Your new role
This new position is designed to ensure that the organisation is can continue to thrive, with employees at the core of their success.
As Head of People and OD, you will be a HR strategist, working with the CEO and senior leadership team to create and implement a clear people strategy for the organisation that enables CTSEW to achieve its organisational goals whilst supporting and developing the people they employee. You will take the lead in developing and delivering the people strategy across the following areas
- People and culture – particularly developing and communicating the CTSEW culture across multiple locations.
- Recruitment
- Wellbeing
- Performance management
- Learning and Development.
- OD and Leadership
- Support to the outsourced HR support function.
What you’ll need to succeed
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional with a passion for working for a business with a real purpose. The role is diverse, and the skillset matches this. HR leadership experience is essential, as is CIPD membership. You will have positive influencing skills, both within the leadership team and throughout the organisation. The ideal candidate will be innovative, creative, well-organised, a confident HR practitioner and will be passionate about making a difference. This is also an opportunity for the right person to take the step-up to Head of People level if they have the right attitude and relevant prior experience.

The salary is £36,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependant on experience), 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, flexi-working, 37 hours per week.
