Job Details

This is a brand new role, working in a fantastic organisation that is leading the way in what it provides for its customers and how it develops its people. The Workforce Planning Manager position is responsible for ensuring effective strategies are in place to optimise resource and reduce risk for the business. You will be responsible for designing and influencing executable resource strategy to support the delivery of safe reliable operations and strategic business priorities across a range of scenarios. Key Accountabilities will include:

The role will be responsible for identifying and managing key risks related to short, medium and long term resource planning, including identification of critical skills and development of mitigating strategies.
Work in partnership with senior HR and business stakeholders and key technical/subject matter experts across to define resource/skills requirements to deliver a long term sustainable business.
Develop robust workforce planning approaches and tools to address emerging risks and opportunities related to supply/demand gaps/surplus thereby optimising resource and reducing risk for the business.
Translate workforce plans into executable strategies.
Re-shape the resource mix to meet longer term business strategy.
Drive behavioural change and effective decision making.
Develop a robust resource planning framework that provides visibility and consistency of people numbers and cost base as the organisation changes and enable effective progress reporting.

The successful candidate will currently or will have worked in a large complex environment. Knowledge of workforce planning techniques and tools is essential, as is the ability to translate strategic business requirements into detailed resource/project plans. You will be able to interpret complex people data and to develop and communicate insights to inform strategy/decision making whilst demonstrating sound commercial acumen and an ability to understand people cost structures and levers. Results orientated you will evidence focussed delivery in a complex matrixed environment. You will be a strong influencer, stakeholder manager and superb communicator
