Job Details

REAch2 Academy Trust is building on its success to ensure that every one of its sixty schools is a ‘great school’ which provides truly exceptional opportunities for children. It’s a real team effort which calls for the best HR professionals. We are looking for knowledgeable and self-motivated HR Advisors, to be based around Birmingham and South London, working out of one of our academies in each area.

You’ll be the first port of call for headteachers and school business managers across thirty schools, providing information and advice on employee relations, policies, recruitment, contract and payroll in relation to teaching and support staff, so an outstanding understanding of the Burgundy and Green books is essential. You will provide guidance face to face, by email and over the telephone on REAch2 HR policies and procedures; write contracts, draft letters, provide pay calculations and support recruitment activity. In addition, you’ll maintain systems, produce MI and reports for up to thirty schools, review trends and conduct analysis.

You’ll have current knowledge of employment legislation and experience of supporting managers. Travel may be required to school sites therefore flexibility with working hours and a willingness to travel occasionally is required.

This is an opportunity to be part of a school focussed HR team and a progressive Multi-Academy Trust, develop your HR career in a supportive organisation and work alongside talented headteachers and school business managers.

You’ll be:

  • CIPD Qualified Level 5 or equivalent
  • Knowledgeable about Burgundy and Green Book terms and conditions
  • Informed on teaching and support staff payscales / pay calculations
  • Able to evidence a proven track record in a previous employee relations role
  • An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to show initiative and a willingness to learn
  • Hard working and possess a great sense of humour!

Company

We are a growing charitable organisation currently supporting over 50 primary academies across England. We think of ourselves as a family that delivers school to school improvement, going the extra mile for all our children. We are passionate about dispelling the myth that only certain children are able to achieve.

With extensive school reform and proven educational excellence across our staff, REAch2 set a mission: to help struggling schools to improve their provision, to offer outstanding education to all pupils and to enable sustained school improvement for the benefit of children and their communities. But REAch2 is about so much more, offering a richness of experience that gives real colour throughout the time our children spend with us.

REAch2 aspires to create a family of primary academies with a reputation for delivering truly exceptional performance and outstanding education for all pupils. We are an Umbrella Trust of converter and sponsored academies and through working across a wide geographical area with schools in a variety of situations, REAch2 seeks to make a distinctive contribution and to be an influential voice in the primary sector for enduring impact.

REAch2 is the Cornerstone of the entire Trust: providing a strong, responsible foundation from which every academy develops and grows. A cornerstone provides a subtle yet paramount role in a building and ensures that REAch2 is a trustworthy, accountable and inspirational organisation, delivering the best possible learning experience.

What makes REAch2 unique are the Touchstones: seven principles, which make our Academies distinct. Just as 500 years ago, Touchstones were used to test the quality of the gold they marked, so too our Touchstones are used to express the values and ethos of the Trust. They describe what the Trust wants to be known for and how it wishes to operate.
