The Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman is looking for a Head of Human Resources to help meet the challenges and opportunities facing the Ombudsman over the next few years.
This is a superb opportunity for an accomplished HR professional to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the people and cultural agenda of the LGSCO in line with its values and strategic priorities. Reporting to the Chief Executive you will develop and deliver the HR service during an exciting period for the Ombudsman. For 45 years, we’ve been the voice of the public. Helping people put things right with their local council or social care provider as well as using what we learn from complaints to improve local services. The Role
As Head of HR you will ensure delivery of a best in class HR service with a focus on creating an environment in which our people can excel. You will:
- Support the Chief Executive and leadership team in the effective delivery of LGSCO’s business plan, leading on all people development and driving key projects and priorities.
- Act as a source of trusted professional advice to senior leaders and managers on all HR matters.
- Be responsible for the effective delivery of a comprehensive HR service, including the continuous improvement of HR and L&D operations through service re-design and new technology
The Profile
Our new Head of HR must have a proven generalist HR background in a senior HR role in the public, not for profit or corporate sector. This will include experience in change management, organisational development, resourcing, compensation and benefits, policy development and employee relations.
They will possess a strong track record of true business partnering and will have a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, great communication skills and enthusiasm.
