An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced HR professional to join our HR business partner team at the University of Central Lancashire for up to 12 months.

We are looking for an HR Officer/Business Partner to provide an operational HR interface with the Faculties and Professional Services, working in true partnership with Faculties and Professional Services to support the development of a skilled, highly motivated, high performing, diverse and flexible workforce.

This is an important and challenging role as part of a busy business partner team, dealing with complex operational casework and contributing to the provision of a highly effective HR service.

You will provide expert and professional HR advice and guidance to Management teams within the University’s Faculties and Professional Services. Your ability to interpret HR policy and current employment legislation will be a key requirement of the role.

Educated to degree level (or possessing equivalent experiential learning), you will be a qualified CIPD (Associate Member) or hold equivalent relevant professional qualifications.  HR experience within a large, complex, unionised organisation is essential.

Substantial experience of advising managers on a wide range of HR issues as well as experience of building strong working relationships and working in partnership with a range of stakeholders are essential requirements for this position.

You will have excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility, trust and respect and be able to demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude. A proactive team player with experience of using initiative to solve issues, you will also be well organised and complete work tasks in a logical and thorough manner.

Fixed term maternity Cover for 12 months or upon the return of the substantive postholder, whichever is sooner.
