As HR & Organisational Development Officer, you will review all role profiles across the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health to develop job families with consistent role profiles, job titles and skill sets to afford flexibility, transparency and consistency across the College.
This new part-time fixed-term role has been created specifically to implement and build on the progress of the People Strategy and improve the HR function of the College.
Professionally qualified with a Chartered MCIPD or equivalent, you will conduct focus groups internally, liaising with managers and external consultants and develop a framework to clearly articulate job families, the requirements of each role within a job family and the skills needed. You will also work with external consultants to map roles against the grading structure so staff understand how grades are awarded for each role.
Reporting to the Head of HR & Organisational Development, you should have proven knowledge of UK employment legislation along with demonstrable experience of reviewing organisational role profiles at a strategic level. Proficient in managing projects from inception to conclusion, you will also have experience of undertaking focus group research within the workplace.
The HR & Organisational Development Department has led a number of innovative and exciting initiatives across the College and the People Strategy 2019 – 2021 seeks to build on these successes and ensure the College is in a position to attract, recruit and retain highly skilled staff to deliver the College Plan 2018 – 2021.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.
The RCPCH has more than 19,000 members and fellows and employs around 160 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Interviews: 7 October 2019.
