Interim HR Manager

Your new company

My client are part of a large global business in the transport and manufacturing sector and a strong UK presence. They now have a requirement for an experienced HR Manager to join the Stoke site on an initial 10/11 month FTC to cover a period of maternity leave.


Your new role

As interim HR Manager you will lead a small HR team to deliver first class HR service to c200 employees spread across a number of sites in the UK.

You will drive a modern, cost effective approach to managing people across the business with responsibility for the implementation of efficient and effective procedures for the recruitment, retention, development and deployment of employees across the business.

Working across the business to ensure that the specific HR needs of the various parts of the business are met within an overall framework, harmonising, where feasible, policies, procedures and terms & conditions across the Company and promoting the management of employee performance across the Company.

Key Deliverables:


* Implement, update and monitor HR procedures to ensure the business is legally compliant, promoting best practice and challenging the status quo
* Responsible for the provision of a comprehensive HR advisory and support service to the business, including legal and best practice matters
* Promote the ongoing development of all employees, including competence and succession planning issues
* Overall monitoring of absence, including analysis, and assisting line managers in their management of such issues
* Manage the administration of payroll input
* Continually look for improvement initiatives on HR systems processes and practices
* Developing appropriate conditions of employment across the business
* Support line management in undertaking effective dealings with their staff on all employment matters
* To comply with and promote Company Health and Safety policies and take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and functional employees.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR requirements.
* Ensure HR policies, procedures and practices in continental Europe are in line with the local legislation and as per the collective bargaining agreement where required.
* Implement effective employee engagement strategies.

What you'll need to succeed

* Chartered member of the Institute of Personnel and Development
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar rail or manufacturing business
* Up to date working knowledge and experience of Employment Law and general legislation
* Good communication skills
* Full clean driving licence

What you'll get in return

The role attracts a salary of c£40,000-£45,000 plus benefits. You must be able to start a new role within a 2 week window to be considered for the role.
