We are seeking applications for this exciting opportunity to work as part of a small team of Business Partners (BPs) assigned to the University’s Faculty of Humanities.

You will be responsible for working in partnership with the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) to provide a high quality HR and organisational development service that is customer-focused and drives performance improvement.  You will also have responsibilities across the wider Faculty and University as part of a team of BPs.   You will be required to develop HR plans to support the School’s strategy and objectives, as well as providing support on employee relations matters.   As a member of AMBS’s leadership team, you will be expected to demonstrate value added by reference to a number of metrics.

Professionally qualified to MCIPD level, or with a broad based business qualification supported by practical human resources experience, you will have up-to-date knowledge of good practice and developments in HR with an excellent grasp of the legal and regulatory framework. You will have a proven track record of supporting change as a BP in a large, complex and unionised environment.  Experience in Higher Education is desirable, but not essential. You should also be strong team players, have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate sound analytical and pragmatic problem solving skills. A demonstrable ability to translate strategy into operational requirements is also necessary.
