A dynamic, international high-tech company and a leader in the development, manufacture and supply of high-performance fiber lasers is recruiting a Country HR Manager to support a business unit based in Cologne.

As the HR Manager – Germany your key responsibilities will be to:

•Play an active role within our Global HR team to enable it to optimise its effectiveness as well as building and maintaining effective working relationships throughout the business at all levels
•Work closely with and support the Talent Acquisition Specialist to ensure the delivery of a first-class recruitment process from start to finish
•Ensure standard contracts of employment are drawn up and delivered in a timely manner; manage the onboarding and induction of new employees as well as the relocation of existing employees between sites if required
•Deliver technical advice and support to the business regarding HR-related topics and generally provide a detailed awareness of current employment legislation and company regulations/guidelines; employee relations and ensuring adherence in all compliance issues (such as employment conditions, Code of Conduct, GDPR); pro-actively managing issues as they arise and delivering best practice
•Locally manage the performance review process and support managers in managing and developing employees; developing activities and training programmes as required
•Support the implementation of new HR policies, processes and procedures as well as providing support in the development of HR initiatives and ad hoc projects
•Perform HR-related administration, data management and updates to the HR information systems

Skills and experience required:

•A strong HR generalist with extensive HR experience within a fast-paced working environment. Excellent working knowledge of German employment law and regulations is expected; a relevant HR related qualification would be useful
•Robust employee relations experience within a commercially focused HR department
•Able to focus on key issues when faced with complex/competing priorities

•Strong interpersonal skills, personal effectiveness, flexibility in approach and adaptable to changing situations; able to build relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
•Effective communicator with the ability to deliver operational messages and influence stakeholders at all levels. Comfortable advising and coaching managers on all aspects of people management, development and change management. Fluency in verbal and written English is required
•Working experience and knowledge of modern HR information systems will be advantageous
•Passionate about what you do
