Grade:  9 salary £41,675 - £43,662 (pro rata for hours worked)

Location: Stevenage

This is an exciting time to join Stevenage Borough Council as we are embarking on an ambitious corporate transformation programme.  The HR & OD Service has pivotal role in enabling the Council to deliver its ambitions and in particular, contributing to our Employer of Choice programme.

In this role you will have the opportunity to establish, lead and manage the HR Operations Team including: recruitment and on-boarding, employee relations, learning and development and transactional HR, to deliver a streamlined and digitally enabled excellent service to both employees and prospective employees.

To be successful in the role you will have experience of:

  • Leading and engaging a team to deliver excellent service
  • Leading on end to end recruitment activity and employer branding activity
  • Advising on complex employee relations matters
  • Engaging with trade unions and other stakeholder
  • Leading on Learning and Development programmes
  • Leading and managing the development and implementation of employment policies
