HR Advisor / Human Resources Generalist

Salary: £34,463

Based: Walsall, West Midlands

Contract: Permanent

Closing Date: 20 September 2020

Our client are passionate about their people and this is why they’re recruiting for a HR Advisor to join their busy HR Team.

They’re looking for an experienced HR generalist who can provide first-line HR advice on a wide range of people related queries, and effectively manage employee relations cases and other people issues.

You’ll need extensive experience of managing a variety of complex employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability and sickness. Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and case law is a must, as well as being comfortable to use a range of HR systems. They’d also expect you be qualified to CIPD Level 5 or be qualified by significant experience.

Whilst you’ll be expected to manage the full range of employee relations cases, there will be a focus on sickness management. You’ll be able to interrogate their sickness data to identify trends and pull management data and reports, relaying this information to managers and suggesting remedial action to tackle any specific sickness issues or cases. You’ll need to be organised and manage your time effectively, as you’ll be managing a number of sickness cases at any one time.

You’ll be working across the whole business, so the ability to build effective relationships to coach and upskill managers is key. You’ll also be comfortable with challenging when necessary and influencing colleagues at all levels.

In return for this, they will offer you a great place to work, competitive salary and excellent benefits, which includes:

Learning and development opportunities

Generous annual leave entitlement (27 days)

Christmas Shut Down

A choice of pension schemes including a defined benefit pension scheme

A health cash plan and access to health and wellbeing services

A reward scheme offering colleagues cashback / money off at over 450 leading high street and online retailers
