About the role

Tate’s People Team delivers a range of HR services, covering the full employee lifecycle.  We are looking for an experienced HR professional who has had exposure of the full generalist remit, with comprehensive experience of recruitment, HR analytics and management information reporting, managing ER cases and leading complex HR change projects.

Supported by a HR Advisor and HR Assistant, you will be the dedicated HR Business Partner to specific departments at Tate.

About you

Proactive and productive, you will be supremely well organised and able to manage a varied workload and competing deadlines on a daily basis. You will demonstrate a genuine interest in people and have the ability to build rapport and gain trust at all levels of the organisation. Calm, discreet and diplomatic, you will respect confidentiality in all matters and give honest feedback, whilst being warm, friendly and approachable.

You will provide insightful, pragmatic advice to senior managers as well as guidance and support on a whole range of people issues, acting as a coach to help our managers to deliver. You will implement people plans that are sustainable and will deliver long term results. You will have a collaborative approach to work, sharing ideas and reaching decisions as a team.

You will have solid generalist HR experience, as well as knowledge of at least one major HRIS and other reporting tools. Data led, you will be adept at data analysis which, along with your strong influencing skills and sound judgement, you will use to identify trends, find solutions to problems and inform management decisions.

Prior experience of managing significant change projects, restructuring, redundancies, TUPE etc. in a unionised environment is essential. You will have experience of running transparent and well considered consultation programmes with empathy and transparency, in keeping with our values.

You will contribute to our established Well-being programme, generating ideas and initiatives that will make a meaningful and positive impact upon colleagues throughout Tate.

You will need to have plenty of recruitment experience and demonstrate new ideas for hiring brilliant people.  Mindful of the principles of inclusive recruitment, you must be flexible enough to hire a wide range of staff with differing levels of experience from various disciplines. You must be able to quickly understand the requirements of each role and identify the best routes to hire.

You will bring lots of great ideas – whether that’s enhancing our L&D offer, building upon our range of benefits, or developing new well-being and engagement initiatives.  You must be commercially astute, numerate and a confident negotiator to ensure Tate secures the best value with a wide range of suppliers.

You will be able to draft new policies, all-staff emails, formal correspondence and HR marketing collateral with fluency and flair.

You should hold a CIPD qualification (ideally level 7) and will be committed to continuous professional development and expanding your professional network. Ideally, you will have gained your professional experience in a creative environment, but this is not essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for senior HR Advisors ready to take the next step or an established HR Business Partner seeking to cement their experience.
