Director of Human Resources

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and talented individual as the Director of our HR Department. The Director of HR provides leadership and works in partnership with other members of the University’s Chief Executive Group to achieve the University’s Strategic Plan primarily through the delivery of the People Strand Strategy.

You will be accountable for the delivery of comprehensive and effective HR services that meet both the long term strategic and day-to-day operational needs of the University.

You will have considerable experience of leading within large complex organisations, including working within a unionised environment and must possess broad human resources knowledge and experience across a range of areas including:

  • people strategies and policy development,
  • organisation and learning development,
  • performance management,
  • recruitment,
  • selection and retention,
  • reward systems,
  • diversity, equalities and inclusion,
  • employment law,
  • employee relations.

You will be an established leader, a clear, strategic thinker, and a change agent, with a strong long-term vision for inspiring others to achieve to the best of their abilities. You will have demonstratable experience of influencing others, delivering the highest professional standards and implementing effective people management practices.

To be successful in the role, you will hold a graduate qualification and likely to be qualified with a further degree in a relevant subject such as Human Resource Management or equivalent, achieved through membership of a relevant professional body.
