BOARD TRUSTEE
With Strategic HR expertise to Chair the Human Resources and Remuneration Committees

Certitude is London's largest not-for-profit provider of person-centered support to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health support needs. We have been successful in growing our organisation and have an income of c£50m per annum.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Board Trustee with strategic HR experience who will chair the Human Resources and Remuneration Committees. The Chair of the Committees is supported by the other trustees to ensure the highest standards of governance in policies and practice across the HR agenda. The HR and Remuneration Committees ensure workforce risks are assessed and managed. The HR Director is accountable for the delivery of the workforce strategy which is monitored by the Committee.

The successful candidate should have experience operating at board level in a medium or large organisation. In particular, you will have experience of technological change, Organisational Development and talent management with the ability to facilitate innovative solutions. You need to be risk aware but not risk averse. Experience in the social care sector or voluntary sector is not essential.

Certitude has a diverse workforce and is committed to developing and maintaining a Board of Trustees that is representative and reflective of London communities. Our current Chair of the Board with the Chair of HR Committee have been instrumental in ensuring that Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are a priority for the organisation. The new Chair of HR and Remuneration will continue this work by ensuring we are able to demonstrate our commitment to a diverse workforce and service provision.

Certitude particularly welcomes applications from candidates who are from a BAME background and disabled candidates.

This is a voluntary position and unpaid but reasonable out of pocket expenses are paid. In the current climate, most meetings are held using MS Teams or in Balham, South London. The time commitment per annum is: five evening board meetings, five HR and Remuneration Committee meetings, two Board away days and two visits to services.
