Training Officer, up to £30k pa plus benefits. Manufacturing company in Ledbury, training exp. essential

Your new role
Based on site, you will be reporting into the HR Manager and own the training function within the HR Department. This will include designing, developing and delivering training (as well as administration) in line with business objectives and external audit requirements. You will play an essential part in the organisation's success by supporting the onboarding programme, supporting management and working with outsourced training providers in some instances: More details below.

* Provide a training & development support function to all operational departments for management, delivery and audit of training as required, for example:

* Supply Chain: manage and audit 3rd party training, licences and refreshers
* Production: Manage and audit the shop floor training in fundamental skills and compliance training; manage and audit the FLM training and adherence process
* Health & Safety: Support OHSEH Team with managing and auditing induction process for hourly, monthly and temporary personnel PLUS support the delivery of OHSEH Training Courses i.e. managing safely, Manual handling, CoSHH etc

* Ensure all our FLMs are equipped with a general understanding of employment law through training and development
* Produce training materials for in-house training (consider e-learning packages)
* Evaluate training and development on site, with feedback questionnaires and discussions
* Amend and review any training programme as necessary in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
* Support each function (both staff and shop floor) with the development and maintaining of training matrices
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records which can be referred to during any external audit
* Support Quality with any audits which cover the training and development on site
* Manage the development of a full and detailed recruitment process for office staff and shop floor personnel - including identifying and administering appropriate selection testing, supporting and coaching the recruiting managers through the process to ensure a fair and consistent approach
* Responsible for the HR Induction of all new employees, and training the HR Assistant to carry out the inductions to support you and / or cover in your absence
* Manage and co-ordinate the annual performance process of all shop floor employees supporting line management and ensuring all are completed in a timely manner
* Support the HR Manager with the management and co-ordination of the annual performance process for staff (system based) particularly in their absence ensuring all completed in a timely manner and supporting line management with training as and when required
* Manage the co-ordination of all apprentices on site - maintaining regular contact with training provider; providing support to relevant line Managers

* Support HR Manager when necessary to project manage key HR initiatives and projects inclusive of any UK HR project that involves T&D requirements
* Support Leadership Team as requested to with key projects
* Full responsibility for the site Training & Development taking the site to "best in class" and a benchmark site
* Regularly update of all T&D policies / processes to ensure consistent improvement in the site approach to development of personnel and building of a multi-skilled approach and flexibility to ensure increased efficiency
* Manage and co-ordinate the sites Development Programme currently being introduced to build a succession planning route.

What you'll need to succeed

* Excellent IT skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
* The ability to recognise priorities and organise their workload accordingly whilst maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
* Proven ability to develop and deliver training courses
* A keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent team player
* Flexibility in respect of taking on other duties to support team members, and willingness to work varied hours if the role demands it e.g. any training requirements to cover shifts
* Excellent communication skills throughout all levels of the business
* Possess tact, diplomacy and a high level of confidentiality
* A self-starter with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
* Substantial training experience at T&D Officer level or equivalent
* Good understanding of employment law
