Job description
We are looking for a Learning and Development Manager to come and join us as we grow and develop our Service. You will be a professional who embraces change and is committed to motivating, inspiring, leading and managing our Learning and Development Team.
We embed learning and development in our culture and daily work and this role is critical in delivering a professional, customer focussed and high-quality Service.
About the role
In this role, you will be required to lead on all matters relating to learning and development. You will also be required to assist in the development and implementation of Service learning and development strategy, plans and policies.
You will be required to work closely with the Training Centre Manager to ensure we meet training and development needs for the whole Service and support the delivery of BFRS Community Risk Management Plan. You will also be required to work closely with the HR department to secure appropriate talent and development pathways in order to support succession planning and to meet future organisational needs.
About you
Your expertise and innovative thinking will give you the ability to transform ideas into action and drive change to achieve outcomes. The world of work is changing fast and having an immense impact on learning and development strategies. You will have current knowledge and a clear understanding of current Learning and Development good practice.
You will hold a full membership of the CIPD (MCIPD), or equivalent alternative recognised professional learning and development qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
You will also have significant experience of leading and effectively managing a Learning and Development team within a complex organisation. You will have significant experience of producing and implementing learning and development policies, procedures and strategies.
