This newly created position provides an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced and professional Human Resources Director (HRD) who is seeking to make a high-level strategic contribution to the University, as a dynamic and successful tertiary education organisation that is at an important time in its development.
Your key areas of responsibility will be for:
- Professional Leadership
- Organisational Design and Development
- People/workforce strategic planning
- Strategic HR development
- Employee Engagement and
- Organisational Culture
As a key member of the University’s senior management group, you will work with other senior leaders across the University’s academic partnership, in order to provide strategic professional leadership to drive the organisational development of a more consistent and aligned approach to people management, employment matters, recruitment and retention, and the professional development of our workforce, at regional-level across the partnership.
It is essential that you are well-educated with a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent and are a current member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD) or equivalent, with significant HR/OD leadership experience at board or executive level in a large and complex organisation of comparable scale. You will also have substantial experience of the effective management of projects and initiatives, with a proven track record of leading and implementing reform and organisational change that successfully delivered solution-focused results across organisational and professional boundaries in a complex environment, preferably from within a partnership-working environment here in the UK.
The successful post-holder will require very high levels of strategic thinking, analytical, negotiating, influencing and partnership-working skills combined with a visible and dynamic leadership skill set. It is essential that you have a strong knowledge of high impact HR/OD practices and an understanding of compliance and regulatory issues affecting the HR/OD function, ideally that specifically relate to working within the further and/or higher education sectors. You will also need to be engaging and resilient with excellent communication, networking, coaching and facilitation skills.
