Associate Director of People and Culture

Employer
Ofqual
Location

Salary
£63,000 - £71,050
Closing date

As England’s independent regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessments, Ofqual’s job is to maintain standards, to make sure that qualifications accurately reflect the knowledge and skills people have attained through a range of different learning methods.

We work with other Civil Service departments across the spectrum of education to deliver on our priorities and to ensure the best possible outcomes for learners in England

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead and inspire our People team to deliver and develop to meet the needs of the business.

  • You will ensure the effective delivery of the Ofqual People Strategy as well as delivering HR services to the business.
  • Working closely with the Senior Management Group, the Leadership team and the Regulatory and Corporate Services team to ensure that people are at the heart of everything we do.
  • MCIPD qualified or with equivalent HR leadership experience.  You will work flexibly and pragmatically as well as driving strategy.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who, as the People lead, will have a broad remit over HR & OD functions.

We are looking for a strong track record of developing and implementing a broad range of people strategies and initiatives to support organisational strategy and to build an inclusive culture. This is a ‘hands-on’ role so you need to be happy to get stuck in, when the need emerges.

Your experience of leading and inspiring change programmes and your strong communication skills will enable you to influence and motivate stakeholders.   You will role model inclusive leadership and a commitment to equality and diversity, challenging the status quo and ensuring all voices are heard.

Ofqual is a rewarding place to work. The team strongly encourages flexible working and personal learning & development. We are currently working remotely with occasional office days.  In the longer term the post holder will be required to attend the office in Coventry for two to three days per week on average.

Diversity & Inclusion is important to us. We actively encourage applications both from those within the Civil Service, and outside. We particularly encourage applications from those of a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background and those with disabilities, who are currently under-represented within Ofqual at this level.  We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are supported to participate in the job application or interview process, and to undertake the role.

If this sounds like the role for you, we will be pleased to receive your application!
