Human Resources at Aldridge

This is an exciting time to be joining a rapidly developing, small Human Resources Team.  The role will be challenging and rewarding and there will be a real opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark on the Academies they support and the role their own, whilst contributing to the expansion and growth of the Human Resources culture within the Trust.

The role will be based at two of our academies (Portslade and Falmer) in Brighton with the provision of support to the wider HR team when required and occasional travel to London and the Northwest will be necessary.  In the event that the Trust expands then the incumbent may be required to support another Academy in the Brighton region.

The successful candidate will be robust, self-sufficient with a passion for a proactive approach to Human Resources.   This is in effect a standalone position and the postholder will undertake the full range of HR activities for the Academy which will include Advisory and all HR related administration.  The postholder must be prepared to undertake both administration and advisory work have experience of employee relations and trade unions.

The postholder will report to the Principal on a daily basis with an overall reporting line to the Director of Human Resources.

About Aldridge – The Way we Work

We are entrepreneurial and our passion for high quality, inclusive education drives our work. We have shared goals and shared approaches which are tailored for the local context. We help each of our schools and colleges to define how best to achieve those goals for their community.

We encourage students, staff and members of the local community to develop a passion for learning as well as an entrepreneurial mindset, enabling people to help take responsibility for their own futures and their neighbourhoods. Our values are the entrepreneurial attributes that we help our students to develop – creativity, passion, determination, problem-solving, risk-taking and teamwork.

We want all our schools to be ambitious and entrepreneurial – inside and outside the classroom, in strategic planning and everyday activity. This means that the emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking provides context for all the learning that takes place and every aspect of academic life. Staff make a commitment to supporting entrepreneurial behaviours, and to acting as a role model by using these behaviours themselves in their work.
