Your new role
We are looking for an experienced HR advisor to join the HR and Payroll services on a full time and fixed term contract basis (11 months). As a HR Advisor, you will provide a proactive HR service across all aspects of the Advisory & Wellbeing service to managers, and external customers in line with agreed Service Level Agreements. You will lead on the management of individual case work with minimal supervision and escalation by acting as a subject matter expert. This will include resolving disciplinary, TUPE, redundancy, restructuring, and other employment related issues.

You will assist in the coaching and development of the HR Advisors (Shared services) and share learning and knowledge with colleagues to ensure the team are able to provide a proactive and efficient HR service. You will lead and deliver discrete projects or contribute to elements of larger strategic projects as may be required by the Service Manager/ Head of HR & Payroll to improve service efficiency and deliver high level of customer service. You will be required to undertake any other duties as may be required which are appropriate for grades of post, up to and including the grade of this post.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, In-depth knowledge of employment law as determined by EU legislation, national legislation and case law is required. Detailed grasp and experience of managing organizational change and redundancy processes is vital for this role. You need to be a confident communicator as you will be liaising with a various stakeholders at different levels. It is essential that you have in-depth knowledge of the following:

* Council's policies and procedures
* contracts of employment
* local government conditions of service
* local conditions of service for appropriate occupational groups, where applicable

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you are working towards or has completed year 3 (electives) CIPD OR equivalent in-depth knowledge and experience within an HR environment.
