Are you an experienced HR Business Partner looking to work for a values driven law firm?

Why work with us?

Thompsons Solicitors are a law firm unlike any other.  With nearly 100 years’ experience of successfully representing clients of injury and mistreatment, we have the privilege of working with and supporting the Trade Union movement and the people they represent.

We provide an inclusive environment which enables us individually and collectively to be the best we can be. We are recognised as one of the UK's leading teams by credible directories including The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, as well as being commended in The Times’ Best Law Firms 2021 for our work in employment, personal injury and clinical negligence. We pride ourselves on being “the most experienced trade union, claimant and employment rights law firm in the UK”.  We offer a friendly working environment, excellent benefits and are committed to agile working and continuous improvement.

The opportunity:

We are seeking a proactive HR Business Partner who has the drive to support the ongoing transformation of people services within the firm.   We have already delivered a significant proportion of our Fit for the Future People strategy but still have work to do.

As the primary contact for your area you will drive the local HR agenda for your areas of responsibility whilst ensuring your activities align with overall people strategy.

This opportunity will suit you if:

  • You flourish in a fast paced environment and are driven and energised by transformation activities
  • You are a true team player and ensure you personally contribute to a positive working environment
  • You are MCIPD qualified
  • You have sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice
  • You are able to coach senior managers to enable them to bring the best out in people

Our team culture

We strive to be the best, both as a team and as individuals, we do this collaboratively not competitively and understand the value of all pulling in the same direction.
