Director of HR

Employer
Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation Trust
Location
New Cross Gate, London predominantly, but also working across our school sites in south London
Salary
Competitive to reflect experience and expertise. To be discussed on appointment.
Closing date

The Haberdasher’s Aske’s Federation is a well-established Multi Academy Trust, with 5 primary schools and 4 secondary schools, all situated in south-east London. We believe that schools can’t become great places for students to learn and grow unless we make them great places for staff to work and grow.

We are now seeking to appoint a Director of HR to join our Central Services team. You will work with the CEO and senior team in developing our People Strategy and will support all of our schools, through a cluster of HR Advisors and Business Managers.

You will be CIPD qualified with a strong track record of working in a HR role either as an experienced Manager or Director level, preferably in education but not essential. You will have the skills, credibility, and confidence to establish strong working relationships with our senior leaders in schools.

You will be involved in a whole breadth of operational and strategic HR issues, including employee relations, staff engagement, pay and reward, performance management, policy development and supporting the CEO and her team in developing and implementing a modern human resources strategy that sets out our people ambition for the future.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this will be a new appointment, so it is an exciting opportunity to establish and develop the role in the way in which you think best supports our schools.  You will be supported in thinking creatively in how best to deliver an outstanding and cost-effective HR service and will lead on developing an annual HR business plan in consultation with senior leaders.

You will be joining a small and highly professional central services team. Each member of the team works to support the schools delivering their strategic objectives through the schools.

We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds and would consider full-time/flexible/part time working as part of our aim to be an employer of choice.
