Permanent Rewards & Pensions Manager role in Manchester

We have an exciting new permanent job opportunity available for a Specialist Reward & pensions candidate to join a well known organisations with a large shared service function in Manchester city centre. The business has currently over 40,000 employees and this role will be to to deliver group reward and pensions policy and practice in line with reward and pension framework as well as focusing on the implementation and development of reward, benefits and pension programmes within the Shared Services payroll team.

Your new role

The role is an operational role and you will be responsible for the implementation and processing of key payroll, reward, pension and benefits processes. (e.g. successful implementation of our annual pay review, performance related pay, pensions auto enrolment, pension re-assessments, annual incentive plans, flexible benefits).

You will be managing a small team who will be responsible for processing pension and reward for 43,000 employees on 2 lunar payrolls (one insourced and one outsourced payroll). In addition, you will provide guidance, technical support and expertise to internal and external customers and stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement and support the Head of Payroll strategy to improve relations with key stakeholders, embed a customer centric culture and maximise the performance of the payroll function. You will be responsible for team performance and development; setting SMART objectives, conducting reviews, providing training, coaching and meaningful feedback to maximise performance and support development.
You will need to be able to communicate purposefully; with clarity, integrity and enthusiasm, to support HR and the separate centres of excellence for Reward and Pensions and explain complex pay and reward issues in a way that is easy to understand. Earn trust and build credibility; create an engaging environment, respecting the diverse interests and opinions of others. Clearly define your goals, emphasising the importance of your ideas and projects within an organisation with many competing priorities.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience in reward, payroll benefits including pensions
Degree or post grade equivalent in Human Resources/Reward & Benefits (MCIPD)
Experience of wider payroll processes (HMRC reporting Tax & NIC etc)
ORACLE eBusiness Suite experience or similar
Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD)
