We are introducing a new role of People Development Advisor to build, develop and deliver people development programmes that will support all colleagues to learn, grow and achieve maximum capability.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate learning and development professional to develop and implement a strategy for talent management and leadership development. In this role you will develop programmes and activities appropriate for those with potential and introduce initiatives that will improve their contribution and performance. 

This exciting opportunity requires a high performing individual with strong specialist knowledge and demonstrable experience in learning and development who can lead on the design and delivery of a range of OD and L&D solutions and strategic projects. You will have the creative vision to propose, design and deliver a wide range of leadership development solutions tailored to the business and leaders’ needs. This will include building capability, driving enhanced performance and attracting talent.

You will bring a genuine interest in people and have the ability to build rapport and gain trust at all levels of the organisation.
 

The key responsibilities of this role include:
 

  • To design and deliver engaging learning initiatives ranging from induction to manager level with confidence and credibility Provide development programs and initiatives designed to progress the skill and knowledge of individuals throughout all levels of the team
  • To develop a strategy which will identify skills gaps within the organisation and implement and deliver learning strategies to enable continuous improvement and add value to organisational performance
  • To identify opportunities where people development will enable organisational strategy
  • To lead and support the completion of the annual appraisal performance reviews ensuring managers provide constructive feedback and applicable objectives
  • To ensure all job descriptions are current and an accurate reflection of the responsibilities of the role
  • To build strong relationships and trust with key stakeholders to increase engagement with learning opportunities
  • To guide and support managers in respect of personal data and ensuring compliance with GDPR requirements
  • To guide and support managers in managing poor performance
  • To research training subjects and providers to achieve people development and enable organisational strategy
  • Ensure all skills training is maintained and followed up to ensure best value is achieved
  • Motivate managers to ensure ownership is taken to develop and improve their direct reports
  • To develop and implement appropriate recruitment and selection assessments
  • To assist in the delivery of HR solutions to support organisational change
  • To undertake the induction process setting clear standards and expectations
  • To provide coaching and mentoring support to colleagues in their roles
  • To work closely with the HR Coordinator in leading the Apprenticeships and Graduate programs working effectively with the managers to identify graduate training needs, developing apprenticeship framework and utilising apprenticeship levy
  • To work closely with HR Coordinator to develop and deliver D&I initiatives in addition to Equality, Unconscious Bias and Resilience support
  • Additional ad-hoc day to day duties as required
     

Requirements

  • Proven experience of developing and delivering learning and development initiatives and programmes, using a variety of methods, that drive an uplift in capability
  • Possess a wealth of Learning & Development knowledge that enables best practice and industry specific trends
  • Demonstrable expertise in Organisational Development together with a proven track record in facilitating successful organisational and cultural change in a complex and fast-paced environment
  • Experience of cost-cap calculation reporting would be beneficial
  • Ability to engage and influence others including those outside of your direct working relationships whilst consistently role-modelling positive behaviours
  • A strong coach of people with the confidence to give constructive feedback to people at every level in the organisation
  • Excels at building strong and trusted relationships and engaging all members of the team to optimise performance
  • Experience of fully utilising the Apprenticeship Levy and track record of delivering successful apprenticeship, graduate, and professional development interventions
  • Confident in dealing with high-volume workload
  • Results driven and with good problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively and apply constructive and actionable feedback
  • Experience of the procurement of external suppliers when required and managing leadership training contracts ensuring delivery of quality assured training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desirable but not essential experience: organisational behaviour, occupational psychology, coaching, organisational design, psychometric testing
