This successful site employs c250 people and specialises in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of connectors and interconnect products for a highly demanding customer base in the Aerospace, Military and Industrial sectors.  Poised for further growth, and investment, we are now seeking to recruit a Director of HR UK (Maternity Cover) who will help deliver unrivalled levels of excellence.   The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and directing the UK HR teams to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business and its employees. Proactively advising on best practice HR and where necessary taking a hands-on role in dealing with case work.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and directing the human resource teams to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business across 5 UK sites.

  • Ensure a comprehensive induction programme for all new joiners including reviews and development plans.

  • Develop and implement an annual agenda for HR strategy in line with the business plan. Ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation, as and when they occur.

  • Co-ordinate recruitment throughout the company through management of the HR teams. Build relationships with recruiters, draft briefs, set up interviews where necessary. Interview senior hires when necessary.

  • Employee consultation as and when required, to include changes to terms and conditions of employment, policy change and redundancy consultation etc.

  • Ensure the management of any performance, grievance and disciplinary issues in legally compliant and professional. Dealing personally with very complex cases and approving any dismissals.

  • Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and legally compliant.

  • Provide day to day advice to line managers on all human resource issues: management of staff, remuneration, etc.

  • Review all staff salaries and make recommendations for pay rises in consultation with dept heads along with annual wage consultations.

  • Ensure payroll is completed via the team accurately and to deadline for 3 sites.

  • Conduct occupational health referrals and provide pastoral support and advice to employees.

  • Benefits management including Group Life Assurance and Group Income Protection.

  • Full responsibility for the HR budget.
