Permanent

Hours: Full time (flexible working considered)

Do you want to take a leading role in supporting NHS organisations with:

  • ensuring their job evaluation and equal pay processes are in line with good practice?
  • maintaining good partnership working with the NHS trade unions?
  • ensuring that the employer voice is represented in national discussions on the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme?
  • the provision of high-quality job evaluation training in England?
  • national negotiations and discussions on the reform of pay, terms and conditions, and the NHS reward offer for over 1.3 million NHS staff?

If so, we have an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our Employment Relations team.

What are we looking for?

As a manager in the Employment Relations team, you will;

  • lead the design, development, and implementation of the commissioned work programmes, working closely with key stakeholders and employers in the NHS.
  • facilitate and contribute at national meetings
  • attend and run engagement events, providing products, tools, and guidance to support employers, and answering queries on job evaluation and equal pay, terms and conditions, and employment relations issues.
  • work closely across the team, planning and communicating effectively.
  • engage and work with other teams across the organisation to ensure our work is successfully connected to ensure the best support for employers in the NHS.

Experience of successful partnership working with trade unions is desirable.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • require excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to plan work, prioritise and manage conflicting priorities;
  • have strong people management skills and will be required to work with and develop robust relationships with a range of stakeholders;
  • have the ability to analyse information and make decisions based on conflicting advice.

The position requires you to represent the organisation at external meetings and you will be required to facilitate and run engagement events. You will be supported to develop into the role, but you will require some knowledge and understanding of the NHS terms and conditions and reward environment, including job evaluation, as well as an understanding of the wider challenges that the NHS workforce faces along with the possible Human Resources solutions.
