This is an exciting time to join the Workforce & OD team at Powys County Council, with a new People Strategy and a 3 year workforce transformation programme being rolled out at pace. Much has been achieved already and there are many challenging opportunities ahead for you to help drive workforce change and improvement in the Council. The Professional Lead Human Resources will lead, motivate and inspire the Heath, Safety & Wellbeing Team and HR business partnering teams to the Council’s corporate services and schools, driving the strategic direction of the team whilst ensuring the provision of a tailored and effective HR service. Key aspects of the role include; helping services and the school’s service to redesign their models and approach to people management to best meet the needs of the people of Powys, to help the Council transition to an agile working model whereby many activities are delivered remotely, and to continue to build strong partnership working with our local health board, trade unions and other stakeholders in the County. You will be an expert on the field of employment relations and provide specialist support to address complex people issues, whilst ensuring continuing harmonious employee relations.
Future Operating Model: Working differently over the past year has taught us much at Powys, through investing in our digital infrastructure and through a talented and committed workforce we know we can deliver great public services in agile ways, with many staff working remotely from home on a regular or full time basis. Our new ways of working later this year will embrace this learning and we would welcome applications from people who want to enjoy the beautiful wide open spaces of Powys and/or who would like to work remotely on a regular basis.
