Assistant Research Manager/Administrator
3 months, possible extension
Southampton - Remote - however this may change.
Monday - Friday 35 hours per week.
Hourly rate £13.80 - £14.50 per/Hr depending on experience.
Working for a Southampton based Institute within the Faculty of Medicine, this Institute exists to make a difference to society through health research and the way it is prioritised, funded, managed, disseminated, and used.
Job:
Working closely with colleagues within the functional team, to ensure the delivery of defined areas of work and/or project portfolio supporting the Research Management process.
To oversee admin processes and schedule admin tasks relating to the function.
Duties:
To oversee the admin support processes, supervising the work of the administrator, to ensure work is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
To review procedures and processes, making recommendations for improvements where identified and implementing agreed change.
To provide detailed advice and guidance on specialist defined processes and procedures to internal and external customers.
To perform detailed analysis, manipulation, and interpretation of specialised data to create reports and highlight and prioritise issues.
Where applicable, to organise events, ensuring all activities run efficiently by coordinating diaries, booking venues, and supplying relevant information.
To provide support to senior Management, coordinating diaries, arranging and supporting meetings, and filtering enquiries.
To draft and issue documentation, gathering and analysis data for meetings and occasionally present.
To support the admin of the business development opportunities across the Institute.
Any other duties required by the Manager and Team
Qualifications, knowledge and experience:
HNC, A-Level, NVQ3
Proven work experience acquired in relevant roles and job-related training.
Able to apply a comprehensive understanding of relevant systems and procedures, and an awareness of activities in the broader work area.
Ability to accurately analyse and interpret complex data and presenting a summary information in a clear and concise format.
Ability to make effective use of standard office computer systems including Microsoft Word/Excel/CRM/Electronic Management System.
Able to plan, prioritise and deliver projects.
Able to identify and solve problems in new ways and develop improved processes and procedures.
Able to work as part of a teamwork with clear and concise communication skills.
Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Ability to liaising with other parts of the Institute and External customers
