The post-holder will have oversight of the delivery of dependable and connected services and a staff and student culture that emphasises wellbeing and high-performance.

You will drive an approach that empowers our whole community, students and staff, to embrace, a shift in culture.

This full-time post is envisaged as an excellent opportunity for a mid-to-senior career academic, or a professional with strategic HR experience and a track record of embedding diversity in complex organisations. An understanding of the University environment is desirable; as are familiarity with HR and Organisational Development practices, together with a demonstrable knowledge and experience of good practice relating to equality, diversity, and inclusivity. A successful internal University candidate will be seconded from their existing role.

Applicants should also submit a CV and a letter of application setting out their fit with, and vision for, the role as described.

Applications are particularly welcome from women, people from the Black, Asian, Minority or Ethnic (BAME) communities, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in senior posts at the University.

The University is committed to equality for all, demonstrated through our multiple accreditations and awards, as listed on: http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards/.

Closing date: 10 May 2021.
