We have experienced strong growth at PG level and additionally we launched a Graduate MBA in January 2021. We therefore need to recruit additional staff with an interest in teaching at this level.

Main duties & responsibilities

You will contribute to the teaching and module leadership in the undergraduate, postgraduate and executive programmes offered by the School.

You will be expected to engage in scholarly and research activity in the field which includes undertaking supervision of student projects, dissertations and theses and contribute, as appropriate, to administration and programme development and support the overseas activities of the School.

In addition, at Senior Lecturer level, you will participate, as appropriate, in the School’s external interface with businesses and the community, engage with the School’s business development activities and maintain and develop links with relevant professional bodies and academic groupings.

Experience and skills needed

You will have expert knowledge in your subject area and at Senior Lecturer level, a proven track record of teaching within Higher Education. Experience of student project and dissertation supervision is desirable, as is a record in research publications.

 

You will have the ability to communicate effectively, clearly and supportively with both students and academic colleagues, and the ability to deal with conflicting demands and priorities with a high level of attention to detail. You will also be able to demonstrate an ability to teach via a variety of delivery methods e.g. blended learning, online learning, on campus learning.

Qualifications required

You will either:

  • hold a Masters (or equivalent level 7 qualification), in a relevant subject area (for Lecturer)
  • hold a PhD (or within 3 months of viva), or equivalent level 8 qualification in a relevant subject area (for Senior Lecturer) 

OR

  • demonstrate significant relevant industry experience and hold Chartered Membership of the CIPD either MCIPD or FCIPD
