We are recruiting for an exceptional Head of HR with proven success in change management to join us for an exciting 18-month period of transition, leading the HR function towards a full business-partnering model.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 9,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

Reporting to the HR Director, the Head of HR sits within the Human Resources directorate, alongside Learning and Organisational Development, Payroll Management and the Facilities teams. The directorate plays a key role in defining and supporting our organisational culture, driving high levels of employee engagement, proactive day-to-day people management and positive people behaviours.

This is a senior role, which will appeal to individuals with experience of, and an aptitude for, successfully introducing business partnering in HR.  As well as managing a team to ensure continued high quality HR services, you will also support the effective implementation of the new HR Information System and help shape the future of Human Resource management within Dogs Trust. 

CIPD qualified (MCIPD or above), the successful candidate will have substantial HR generalist experience, proven success as a people manager, significant expertise in HR casework and experience of working in an organisation successfully using an HR business partnership model.  An excellent communicator, you will have a strong track-record of delivering multiple high impact projects to time and within budget, whilst proactively contributing to the development of HR strategy and planning, always working in a collaborative manner.

This post will be based in Dogs Trust London Office. (Under current pandemic restrictions our office staff are currently working from home; interim flexible arrangements will be discussed at interview stage).
