HR Project Officer

£37,491 - £44,598

Fixed Term Contract, 36 hours per week

Location: London

Ref: SC04225

The role:

HR Project Officer – (12-month fixed term contract)

Southwark is in the centre of London, six miles long from the foot of the Shard to the deepest corner of Dulwich Woods, Southwark punches above its weight. It is diverse and dynamic - just like its community with nearly 300,000 residents and a thriving local economy. Home to 92 parks and open spaces, 120 languages, and a thriving cultural scene, there’s really nowhere quite like it.

We believe this is a chance to be part of the best, most exciting council in the country, to make a mark on improving the experience for our workforce of circa 4,500 employees by joining our #greatsouthwarkteams in the most vibrant and dynamic of London boroughs.

Our workforce programme presents an exciting opportunity for you to deliver responsive, cost effective HR solutions, including qualitative and quantitative research, benchmarking and formulation of recommendations, including engagement and consultation with stakeholders such as senior managers, staff and trade unions.

As well as co-ordinating the HR work programme on behalf of the HR and OT service, you will undertake project work on any area related to the Council’s workforce strategy in areas including general workforce management and development, health and wellbeing, resourcing, talent, wellbeing, equalities, diversity, inclusion, process modernisation and reward.

What you’ll need to succeed

You’ll have excellent and well-developed project management skills and practical experience of delivering HR projects on topics like health, wellbeing, employment policy development, equality, diversity and inclusion. This will have involved managing conflicting priorities and deadlines over multiple projects at any one time, taking direction from more than one Project Lead to achieve successful delivery and in consultation with the key stakeholders.

Our HR project officers work to tight deadlines, so you therefore be highly organised, methodical and pro-active in your approach being able to escalate any matters that may affect project delivery to the appropriate Project Lead. You will be a self-starter, establishing what industry best practice looks like and actively seeking out better ways of doing things. You have a collaborative approach to your work with excellent planning and organisational skills. A good communicator, you can manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy, prioritise a busy workload, working at times on your own as well as part of a team.

If this is you and you have Level 5 CIPD qualification, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of experience within a busy HR team, we would like to hear from you.
