Can you lead our up-and-coming workplace support programme, helping organisations to support employees affected by terminal illness, caring and bereavement?

We need our Compassionate Employers programme to help create a world where everyone affected by terminal illness or bereavement feels they have the care and support they need in their place of work. Post Covid, this has never been more important, or necessary.

Compassionate Employers is Hospice UK’s workplace support and accreditation programme, which:

  • helps employers better support employees affected by terminal illness, caring and bereavement
  • recognises leading employers through the Compassionate Employers Award.

You’ll need experience delivering Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) or workplace wellbeing projects within large organisations, and have worked with people-related employer accreditation/membership programmes (e.g. Stonewall Diversity Champions, Disability Confident, Investors in People).

You’ll be able to inspire, influence, engage, collaborate and work effectively with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. You’ll enjoy spotting opportunities, maximising trends and relationships to add value to your work, and have a desire to learn and grow your knowledge in this field.

You will be responsible for the Compassionate Employers programme, delivering on:

  1. Programme development – delivering and constantly improving our offer to employers
  2. Business development – representing the programme externally to raise its profile and recruit new members
  3. Relationship management – supporting our members through the programme, and maximising internal and external connections to enhance our offer


Supported by a Project and Programme Delivery Executive, you will become the internal expert on what it takes to be a Compassionate Employer, and become a leading external voice within the workplace wellbeing field, to help us take this essential programme to the next phase.
