HROD Delivery Lead – People Relations

Employer
Warwickshire County Council
Location
Warwick, Warwickshire
Salary
£57,648 - £64,436
Closing date
1 Jun 2021

We know where we want to be. You’ll help us get there.

Who we are

We’ve just finished work on an evolution of our People Strategy here at Warwickshire County Council. Our leadership team are deeply involved and committed to reinforcing its ambitions and key themes. Ultimately, the strategy sets out a vision for our council to be a great place where diverse and talented people are enabled to be their best.

We know what we want to achieve, and now we’re looking at how we’re going to achieve it. Which is where you come in. Joining a large multi-disciplinary HR delivery team, you’ll deliver solutions centred around People Relations including HR Advisory Services and Health and Safety.

It’s an opportunity to bring your HR expertise to a large local authority that has kind of supportive and open culture that will allow you to work with autonomy and trust.

A future-focused role

You’ll deliver people solutions ranging from HR casework to change management. Working closely with our Commissioning Leaders, you’ll provide the kind of innovative approaches to HR service delivery that will support us to be the best we can be, individually, as teams and as an entire organisation.

As well as maximising a budget of over £2m, you’ll be the go-to subject matter expert for leaders across the organisation. This is a chance to break with convention, challenge red tape and empower our managers to do principle-driven work. Put simply, you’ll take our change agenda forward.

What we’re looking for

CIPD-qualified, you’ll bring substantial experience of working at a senior level in HR, including defining and leading projects, and designing and delivering people solutions across HR and Health & Safety. You should also have a proven ability to manage a large, diverse team and to lead change and continuing professional development within an HROD environment.

We’ll want to see specific experience in HR Advice, Health, Safety, Wellbeing, Policy and Employee Relations as well as a sound knowledge of relevant legislation and policies. And with a strong commercial awareness, you’ll be adept at procurement and contract management.

You’ll be a natural communicator with great people, team and stakeholder management skills. In particular, you’ll be able to manage relationships with internal and external customers, including recognised Trade Unions.

Your rewards

Success here will mean we’re able to provide a better quality of life for our 550,000+ residents – not to mention the businesses investing in our ever-growing commercial and cultural scene.

Naturally, you’ll have the chance to build on your already-impressive people relations expertise too and, over time, take on even more senior roles. Plus, as well as a generous holiday allowance and the Local Government contributory pension scheme, we offer the opportunity to adopt long-term agile working arrangements.
