Head of Talent - Recruitment and Development 

Reporting to: Managing Partner

Department: Management/HR

Locations: WFH (Working from Home) and Plymouth

Hours: 21 hrs min - up to 35, with flexible working options

This may suit one person covering both areas full time, or possibly two people focusing on one or other areas working as a team.

We are expanding our Management Team to take responsibility for Talent Management covering Recruitment and People Development. This may suit one person covering both areas full time, or possibly a team of two people focusing on one or other areas. You will be reporting to the Managing Partner who leads all People initiatives, working closely with the HR Manager who is responsible for HR admin and operational aspects.

What will you do?

Ultimately, you will take the lead in attracting, selecting and retaining top talent and diverse candidates who want to work for a strong dynamic regional firm.

Our existing Management and HR Team are looking for specialist support in recruitment and development. Your flexible adaptable approach will make you a key player where you can influence talent development and acquisition strategy.

You will know what needs to be done to attract the right people, select the best, get them on-board and keep them on-board, in an extremely competitive post-pandemic market.

You will be excited by, and keen to be seen as the “go-to” person who champions the implementation of our dynamic new Performance Management and Competence Framework. Able to deliver some hands-on training and development to retain our people for a secure future with our long-established firm, your digital skills will need to be top drawer! Even better if you are able to develop our people’s coaching and mentoring skills.

What do you offer?

You will be a HR professional with extensive experience of talent management and/or resourcing, ideally in professional services such as law or accountancy.

Able to develop excellent relationships with employment agencies, you will also be keen to take this “bull by the horns” and work with key suppliers to attract future “Wolfies” people – you might even come from an agency back ground and be keen to move over to the other side!

Influential and confident in building relationships, you will have a strategic, commercial mindset and be analytical in your approach. Strong communication, leadership and influencing skills are a must.

Ideally with an excellent knowledge of Employment Law, used to using HR and/or Recruitment systems (People HR or similar) and confident in training delivery (webinars ideally) you will see this role as a chance to take the lead in Talent Management where you can shape your role and the Talent Management Strategy for the firm. Qualified in Psychometrics an advantage.

Probably a Graduate with CIPD or equivalent, or able to convince us that you have the right competences and experience to lead Recruitment and/or Talent Management.
