Hays are currently recruiting for a high volume of COVID-19 General Operatives to start at a new testing facility in Trowbridge. This is an opportunity to work on a new long-term contract in partnership with Public Health England. Your new role This role will involve working as individually or as part of a small team to ensure that the testing facility remains operational for the duration of the contract. The duties within this role will vary and all operatives will need to feel comfortable in all areas:

* Traffic management
* Working in the outdoors assisting members of the public with testing
* Scanning barcodes to ensure appointments are correct
* Handing out self-testing kits
* Site cleaning and tidying
* Ensuring social distancing measures remain in-place
* 48 hours working week (4 days on 4 days off shift pattern 7am - 8pm)

What you will need to succeed

We would welcome your application if your background is within a customer-facing role such as retail, hospitality, administration, maintenance, healthcare.
You will need to demonstrate strong customer service skills as you will be a main point of contact for members of the public arriving at the facility.

Due to the working environment of this role, you will need to be comfortable with working outdoors and on your own as you will be expected to work long hours. All candidates must have a valid DBS check or be eligible to obtain DBS clearance.

Experience required:

* Experience in a customer service focused role
* Identification to process DBS (In Date passport or Birth Certificate, Driving Licence if applicable and 2x proofs of address dated in the past 3 months)
* Ideally a DBS dated in the past 12 months
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with working with technology
