This is an exciting key new role that will work closely with the HR Director, the wider HR team and internal and external stakeholders, to provide strategic planning and problem-solving leadership, and working collaboratively to break down challenges, iterate towards effective solutions, and support change management. The role holder will be responsible for providing a clear direction on all aspects of setting, designing and implementing CJBS's EDI strategy and action plan, which will be closely linked with the University's Equal Opportunities policy and be compliant with legislation on race, gender, disability, age, religion/belief, sexual orientation and gender reassignment.
The role holder will be required to undertake specific projects relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at CJBS, such as identifying and evaluating external best practice and introducing appropriate changes, thereby enabling CJBS to become a leader in EDI within the Higher Educational sector in general, and more specifically as a leading international Business School.
You will be educated to a degree level or hold equivalent qualification, or have quantifiable experience. You will have substantial experience working in an HR / E&D role in a busy department, preferably in an academic environment. You will have demonstrable advanced knowledge of HR and E&D involving a critical understanding of relevant theory and principles. It is imperative that you are able to communicate, build and maintain excellent working relationships with a diverse range of people at all levels, both within and outside the University. Experience of working effectively as part of multi-disciplinary team, the ability to empathise with staff and use tact, discretion and diplomacy, and appreciation of different cultures are pre-requisites for this role.
