Overview
The HR Manager will be responsible for all aspects of HR, Weekly Payroll and Health and Safety. The post is very much a “hands-on” role and the HR Manager will be required to deal with most matters personally or through delegation as appropriate.
Role Specific
- To advise functional Directors and Departmental Managers on all employee relations matters, such as discipline, grievance and employment law.
- Leading the recruitment process including selection and interviewing of candidates.
- Dealing with all new starter company inductions.
- Administration of employee related paperwork, such as employment contracts, new starter induction packs, departmental transfers, pension scheme joiners and formal notices of termination.
- Monitor and review new appointments during their probationary period.
- Oversee the attendance and absence procedures and action where necessary.
- Through the Personnel Assistant ensure the works payroll is administered in a timely fashion such that all employees are paid the correct pay at the appropriate time.
- Ensure all payroll records are correctly maintained to ensure PAYE/HMRC compliant.
- Periodically review all HR related policies and procedures to ensure current in terms of best practice and legal requirements.
- Identify training needs and the subsequent implementation of training programmes.
- Develop the appraisal scheme to ensure personal development plans are identified.
- Through the H & S Officer ensure the Company fully implement the Health & Safety Policy, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation.
- To be the Company contact with the Health & Safety Executive.
- To chair the regular Health & Safety Committee Meetings and ensure agreed actions are implemented without undue delay.
