HR Advisor, Bristol, large public sector org, Up £34k pa +bens, ER exp essential, 6 mth FTC, WFH and office.

Your new role
This an ER biased position in a large HR team - interesting and varied responsibilities include:

* Act autonomously and with limited supervision to provide specialist, professional, HR

support on all aspects of complex casework, including grievance, discipline, capability and
performance, bullying, harassment, whistleblowing and management of attendance;

* Support cases that result in employment tribunal proceedings, providing a strategic

approach to the management of claims

* Coach and support managers involved in complex HR processes
* Provide support, advice and guidance to the HR Officers in the management of

casework

* Use workforce information to improve service productivity, e.g. tackling areas of high

absence, turnover or temporary staff usage

* Attend internal and external meetings to ensure that our services on their behalf as

they consider appropriate and necessary

* Carry out detailed assessment and analysis of complex people related issues using

specialist knowledge to help managers identify appropriate solutions

* Contribute to University wide projects using specialist knowledge to advise on and

oversee operational aspects of organisational change

* Design and deliver workshops and training sessions for managers on a range of HR

and people management related subjects

* Oversee the co-ordination of hearings and, where necessary, will participate in

disciplinary, grievance, capability and appeal hearings as appropriate

* Contribute to the development of HR policy and practice by developing subject matter

and practice expertise and to work with HR teams to ensure that they are issuing good
and accurate advice on policies and procedures and coach as necessary
Work from home and office 50/50

What you'll need to succeed in this role

* Significant experience of working in a HR environment within a large and complex organisation
* Significant experience of effectively managing a large and complex employee relations caseload;
* Experience of supporting and advising managers on the HR implications of change including workforce development, restructuring, redeployment, retirement and redundancy
* Experience of managing HR related projects
* Ability to work autonomously, without direct supervision and as part of a team
* Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information
* Efficient, with excellent prioritisation, time management and organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly, on a number of projects at one time, to tight deadlines and at time under pressure
* Ability to establish and maintain credibility and rapport with staff at all levels across the organisation
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express complex and sensitive information in a clear and understandable way, both verbally and in writing and ability to listen carefully in order to understand the needs of others
* Significant experience of using a variety of IT systems including databases, Microsoft Office etc
* A proactive and pragmatic approach to problem solving including interpreting and explaining policies
