HR Advisor/£35,000

Hays HR (Private Sector) are proud to recruit a HR Advisor for our valued client. The successful candidate will report into a highly experienced HR Manager, based in their HQ in Cardiff. You will be fully responsible for delivering a proactive and flexible HR service whilst supporting and guiding managers with the performance, retention, motivation and development of their staff. Acting as a coach and mentor to ensure internal HR processes and the legal framework is being adhered to whilst delivering business objectives.

Your new role

* Support, coach and challenge line managers with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues in accordance with the Company procedure and relevant legislation
* Advise line managers on all employment law issues
* Support and coach manager with the efficient and effective performance of their employees, identifying and facilitating appropriate interventions in line with the performance management process.
* Work with team leaders in the Company to promote and drive employee engagement
* To lead on the management of HR casework, including making recommendations, and providing appropriate advice
* Analyse weekly and monthly KPIs ensuring continuous employee performance improvement
* Compile and interpret HR data using internal systems
* Assist and lead where appropriate on HR projects and activities
* Manage internal DBS process including monitoring and processing of applications for all relevant employees, ensuring compliance with internal processes and industry regulations
* To keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and HR best practice to ensure the continuous improvement in the HR service.

What you'll need to succeed

* Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified with 2 years minimum experience in an advisor role
* Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
* Previous experience of working in a demanding, fast past busy HR environment with the ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving workload
* Experience of advising and coaching management at all levels
* Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks
* Excellent communication skills
* Demonstrable experience of managing performance management processes
* Strong background in handling complex employee relations cases
* Ability to use initiative to complete tasks effectively and on time
* Ability to remain focused under pressure and meet challenging goals and deadlines
* Proactive approach to own continuous development
* Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Databases, Outlook)
