I am currently supporting a Local Government organisation based in North London with recruitment of an Apprenticeships Employment Advisor to join their Employment Support Service team.
Employment Support Service team provides employment and career support services to residents which include information advice and guidance, CV writing, one to one case work, interview preparation and job search support.
Your new role
The Employment Advisor - Apprenticeships position is a new and exciting role that will raise the profile of apprenticeships as a viable career development choice for residents of all ages and across all business sectors. to do this role effectively you will be required to identify and create a caseload of interested residents seeking apprenticeship positions and proactively link with employers and local partners to identify live vacancies.
Key role deliverable's will include:
* Proactively building and maintaining an active caseload of residents interested in securing apprenticeship opportunities
* The provision of one-to-one support to residents into apprenticeships through an agreed action plan
* To proactively engage with employers across the borough and London to create and broker apprenticeship opportunities for local residents
What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate:
* Knowledge of the UK apprenticeship system, including sector specific initiatives, and a clear understanding of the national policy context for apprenticeships
* Knowledge of key benefits of apprenticeships and the typical barriers when trying to promote them to key stakeholders such as employers, young people, schools and FE institutions
* A proven track record of meeting and exceeding set targets within an apprenticeship or job brokerage context and/or other social inclusion services with a case management approach to delivery
* The capability to organise and run employment-oriented events with associated publicity, sourcing speakers and communication responsibilities
